About the course
If you are thinking of continuing or developing a career in horticulture this apprenticeship will be for you. There are lots of different pathways when it comes to horticulture, perhaps you will choose to work in conservation, the decorative sector, or in landscaping. A competence based qualification which must be assessed in the workplace. The apprenticeship is broken down into theory and practical sessions. You can look forward to an exciting programme of modules including horticultural skills, estate skills, plant and soil science, garden design, machinery, turf establishment and maintenance, landscape construction, decorative horticulture, surveying and business accounting and management.

Entry requirements
Level 2 Diploma in Horticulture (or other industry related qualifications) or a minimum of four GCSEs at grade C or above including English and Maths. Applicants must also be hard working, reliable and motivated. As part of the interview process, Apprentices will undertake a Guroo assessment. Applicants who do not meet the exact entry requirements may also be considered.
Assessment
Assessment takes place as observations.
Careers & Progression
On successful completion of this Advanced Apprenticeship you may progress to a higher level qualification such as a degree in horticulture. Alternatively, you may choose to work as a skilled horticulturist working for an organisation or in self- employment.
