About the course

Develop your knowledge, understanding and skills relating to the scientific, socio-cultural and practical aspects of physical education. What factors improve performance? How can technology help physical activity and sport? How will physical activity contribute to your health and fitness? A Level Physical Education integrates theory and practice with an emphasis on theoretical knowledge. The course allows you to apply knowledge of the physical, technical, tactical and behavioural aspects of your sport and apply it to a study of your choice.

As part of your course you will submit evidence of your sporting or coaching performance as part of your coursework. Do speak to the centre if you have any questions about your sport/coaching.

Entry Requirements

5 GCSEs at Grade 5 or above - Including English and Mathematics. Grade 6 in PE or a Grade 6 in Science. Applicants must compete/perform or coach in at least one team sport or physical activity at club or school level.

Assessment

A Levels are assessed via external examination.
