About the course

This course is designed to introduce key leadership topics that build knowledge and give learners the skills to grow and excel in their roles. They’ll explore a variety of leadership styles, learn when to adapt their approach, and reflect on their own qualities to identify areas for improvement. The course also covers the traits of emotional intelligence and how these influence others.  

Learners will gain the tools to create and support high-performing teams by understanding team dynamics, behavioural styles, and what drives performance. They’ll develop practical skills in building trust, spotting learning needs, supporting growth, and boosting team delivery against goals.  

Tutorial support and portfolio preparation are also included.

Assessment

You will collate and curate a range of evidence to build your own individual portfolio, which will be assessed internally. The portfolio is designed to demonstrate that you have met all the required learning outcomes for the qualification through evidence that is relevant and of a consistently high standard.

Your portfolio should include a variety of evidence types to reflect the breadth and depth of your knowledge, skills, and behaviours. The emphasis is on the quality and sufficiency of evidence. Each piece should clearly demonstrate how the learning outcomes have been achieved, with a focus on real workplace application and professional practice.

Throughout your programme, you will receive guidance and support to help you identify, develop, and select appropriate evidence. This will ensure your portfolio is purposeful, well-structured, and aligned to the assessment criteria, enabling you to present a coherent and compelling demonstration of your competence

Careers & Progression

Having studied on this training course, learners often progress onto further study in this area through the Level 3 Certificate and/or Diploma in Leadership and Management. Having studied on this training course, you/your staff will have developed a range of transferrable skills across the spectrum of leadership and management and this will aid in many aspects of industry and business practice.
