About the course
This course teaches the skills related to the land and environment sectors including soil identification and testing, maintenance of grass and plants, tractor operation and maintenance of equipment. Assessment is via coursework and practical assessments.
Entry requirements
Two GCSEs at grade 3 or above including English Language OR a relevant Foundation Learning qualification including a GCSE at grade 3 in English Language OR relevant work experience.

Extra curricular activities
You may have the opportunity to take part in a wide range of activities to enhance your studies, including: A field trip to Malham in the Yorkshire Dales to learn how the limestone pavement is effectively maintained, Dry stone walling with the National Trust, Tree planting with United Utilities, Regeneration of local landmarks, for example, this year out students were involved in the redevelopment of the Victorian drain system at Gawthorpe Hall, Visiting football clubs to learn about careers in grounds keeping.
