About the course

We ensure your learning has real-world context through our department's strong links with local and national businesses. You'll gain invaluable practical application by working on 'live briefs' integrated directly into your coursework assignments. This approach provides you with hands-on, industry-relevant experience before you even graduate.

Our computing suites have high end servers, network switches, routers and firewalls. The labs include high end desktop PCs and laptops with all the latest software meaning you'll have industry-equivalent hands-on experience from day one. As you'd expect, many of our computing facilities are accessible online. This flexibility allows you to work on developing skills wherever you are and whenever inspiration strikes, supporting a modern, flexible approach to study.

You will be taught and mentored by a highly experienced team and our small class sizes guarantee meaningful and personalised interaction with our teaching team. You will get the opportunity to engage with regular guest speakers who will provide up to date industry insights and will give you further opportunities to interact with the latest technology.

The course content is updated frequently as industry demands change. Our core concepts currently focus on a multi language approach to software development, cyber security, AI and data science.

We'll support you in building a professional portfolio of work that demonstrates your skills in developing content and applications for a range of different target devices. This tangible portfolio can put you in an highly advantageous position when you approach potential employers, clearly showcasing your practical abilities and project experience.
