About the course

Build confidence on the tools and a solid grasp of theory as you take on real brickwork projects that mirror site practice. You will master traditional brickwork methods alongside blockwork, learning how to set out accurately, maintain consistent bonding and joint profiles, and deliver clean, professional finishes.

From day one, you will work to building regulations—installing damp-proof membranes (DPM) and damp-proof courses (DPC), selecting the right insulation methods for performance and compliance, and fitting lintels above window and door openings to ensure structural integrity. We will sharpen your finishing skills with precise pointing techniques, introduce stonework fundamentals, and coach you through constructing corners using industry-standard techniques so your work meets the expectations of modern employers.

Throughout the programme you will develop safe tool handling, site awareness and quality checks that keep jobs on time and to specification. Your progress is measured through a blend of internal assessments and external exams linked to each topic area, giving you clear milestones and a portfolio of evidence. By the end, you will have the practical skill set and professional habits to step confidently onto site or progress to further training.
