Millie Bagshaw, 18, from Bacup, a former student at Whitworth Community High School, was thrilled to be one of our winners at the Awards for Excellence 2025.

“Winning an award was a real highlight for me because it recognised how much effort I’d put into my work placement at Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital.” 

She found that her T Level course gave her the preparation and confidence she needed to pursue a career in Adult Nursing:

“Initially I’d thought I might like to go into Dermatology.

“My work placements revealed to me that I was more suited to Adult Nursing.

“I’m now looking forward to following in my grandma’s footsteps as she was an occupational therapist.” 

Millie progressed to the University of Lancashire to study Adult Nursing.
