Burnley College University Courses (BCUC) graduate has been named a finalist in the degree level category of the North West Apprenticeship and Skills Awards.
Chloe Robertson, 21, a Chartered Management Degree Apprentice (CMDA) at Performance Fluids Ltd. (PFL) began her degree apprenticeship in 2023 and has gone on to achieve outstanding success in both her studies and career.
Being named a finalist places Chloe among the most impressive degree apprentices in the North West and reflects the quality of her hard work, commitment and achievements.
The National Apprenticeship and Skills Awards shine a spotlight on the talent, dedication and ambition of the country’s very best apprentices and T Level students. They also recognise the employers who back them and the people who champion apprenticeship skills.
Chloe said:
“I am delighted to have been named a finalist in the North West Finals. This achievement is a real reflection of the determination, commitment and hard work I have shown throughout my apprenticeship, and I am incredibly proud that it recognises my ability to apply the knowledge and skills I have developed directly back into the workplace.”
Chloe graduated from BCUC this year with First-Class Honours and a distinction in her EPA. Her achievements did not stop there. At graduation, she was also presented with the Employer Award in recognition of her exceptional work on a project that made a significant business impact.
She earned her place in the Regional Awards through her hard work, passion and growth during her apprenticeship. Along the way, she developed strong leadership and strategic skills, delivering projects that improved workforce capability, strengthened customer engagement and supported international business growth, while making a valuable contribution to PFL’s future success.
Chloe’s progress has continued beyond graduation. She has since been promoted to Continuous Improvement and Digital Marketing Coordinator, taking on greater responsibility and a bigger role within her team.
Chloe’s Trainer Assessor, Lynsey Jordan, said the recognition is extremely well deserved:
“Chloe has been a pleasure to support throughout her apprenticeship journey. She has approached every challenge with determination, professionalism and a genuine desire to grow. Watching her develop into such a confident, capable and ambitious professional has been incredibly rewarding, and this recognition is thoroughly deserved.”
Reflecting on her time at BCUC, Chloe said:
“Although I will miss my time at Burnley College, I leave knowing that my time there has been incredibly valuable and has played a huge part in shaping both my confidence and my career. I am extremely grateful for the experiences, friendships and knowledge I have gained, and I look forward to taking everything I have learnt into the next chapter of my career.”
Speaking about the impact of her apprenticeship, Chloe added:
“My apprenticeship has provided me with opportunities to challenge myself, develop professionally and make a genuine impact within my organisation. I certainly wouldn’t be where I am today without the encouragement, guidance and support I have received from my classmates, tutors and everyone who has supported me throughout the journey.”
Her ambitions stretch even further. Over the next five years, Chloe hopes to continue progressing in her career, with the long-term goal of moving into senior operational leadership.
The North West Regional Ceremony takes place on Thursday 1 October in Manchester, bringing together finalists, employers and skills champions from across the region.
