Burnley College student and rising wrestling star Danoush Jowkar has taken a significant step toward his Olympic dreams by traveling to India for an elite training camp. The 18-year-old from Sowerby Bridge, a former student of Calder High School, is preparing to represent Team GB in the U20 category at the European Championship – a remarkable achievement. Currently ranked 5th in the world in his age and weight class, Danoush is proving himself to be a force to be reckoned with on the global stage.

Danoush’s success is underpinned by his time at Burnley College, where he studied Advanced Level Sport, Fitness, and Personal Training as part of the college’s prestigious Elite Athlete Programme.
