GALLERY: Burnley College Marks 11 Years of Festive Magic at Winter Wonderland

Burnley College marked the start of the festive season with the triumphant return of its much-loved Winter Wonderland. This year’s event celebrated eleven incredible years of bringing free, festive fun to the community. The campus was once again transformed into a magical spectacle of snow, sparkles, and seasonal cheer for families from across the region.

The event, a highlight of the local calendar, drew praise from attendees for its wide array of attractions and the exceptional efforts of the students and staff who made it possible.

Families enjoyed a host of festive activities. Father Christmas and his elves travelled from the North Pole to spend the day meeting young visitors. The fairground rides, market stalls and abundance of festive food and drink created a vibrant atmosphere for all ages.

The talented Performing Arts and Dance students delivered fanstic showings of “Sister Act Jr,” while younger children enjoyed interactive storytime with “The Night Before Christmas,” told as you’ve never seen it before. Real reindeer added extra magic and families were delighted with the opportunity to meet Santa in his sleigh. Attractions included the enchanting forest, where snow fell and Christmas songs played, inviting youngsters to discover a snowy Christmas scene in the Construction Centre. Activities like Christmas decoration making and festive crafts offered a creative space with festive sparkle, while games such as Boulder Dash and Penguin Pelt kept guests entertained. The Grinch and Cindy Lou greeted visitors, and live entertainment was provided by the Wheatley Lane Primary School choir.

Families took to social media to share their experiences.
