Burnley College Clarets Takeover 2026: A Day to Remember

Burnley College joined forces with Burnley Football Club to bring energy, enthusiasm and family fun to Turf Moor for the College Clarets Takeover.

The fifth edition of this now-iconic event celebrated the spirit of the local community, shining a spotlight on the exceptional talents of Burnley College students.

Live music performances from Stanley Lumb and Requiem set the tone for the day, with these talented learners bringing their creativity and passion to the stage with unique twists on classic hits.

Families in the bustling Fan Zone were also treated to gaming led by Burnley College’s incredible Esports division, competing in a lively Mario Kart tournament and racing using a professional driving simulation rig.

There was even a special appearance from the club’s mascot, Bertie Bee!

There was excitement for everyone, from free giveaways of merchandise and badges to face painting and manicures from Beauty learners to help get fans match ready.

Reflecting on the event’s success, Bradley Pates, Head of Sport, Fitness & Beauty at Burnley College said:

“It was incredible to see students, families and fans come together to celebrate their shared love of football and the local community at this year’s College Clarets Takeover.

“The performances, the energy and the smiles on everyone’s faces made all our hard work worthwhile.

“This event isn’t just about the game; it’s a chance to build connections, celebrate talent and build pride in our town. We’re extremely proud to be a small part of what makes Burnley so special!”

The event also highlighted Burnley College’s enduring commitment to providing students with real-world opportunities to showcase their skills while strengthening the bond between the College and local organisations.

Initiatives like these allow students to turn their passion into experiences that make a difference while fans enjoy a day of fun and engagement.

We are committed to celebrating local talent and bringing the community together for more unforgettable moments in the future.
