Bonjour Burnley College! Students travel to France to explore aerospace excellence at Safran Nacelles Headquarters

Exceptional T Level Engineering Students and Themis Apprentices from Burnley College Sixth Form Centre embarked on a whirlwind trip to Safran Nacelles Headquarters in France to expand their knowledge.

Nine ambitious Students and Apprentices were given a tour of the Safran Nacelles Le Havre site and its state-of-the-art-facilities, including their cutting-edge augmented reality suite and advanced workshop and manufacturing processes. The group were even given French refresher lessons from Burnley College’s language tutors ahead of the trip.

Learners met industry experts from Safran Nacelles to learn more about the future developments of the company and the exciting innovations they are constantly advancing in the Aerospace industry.

Neil Burrows, Burnley College’s Director of Skills and Innovation, said the trip was an amazing learning experience:

The visit to Safran Nacelles has been an incredible opportunity for our T Level Students. It presented them with vital industry exposure and first-hand experiences of the aviation industry.

It has given these Students a deeper understanding of the career paths available to them once they’ve completed their T Levels. This unique educational experience has left a lasting impression of what it takes to be the next generation of leaders in the aerospace industry.

Students and Themis Apprentices also met Safran’s French Apprentices to share their knowledge and experience, building professional networks overseas to open doors to future collaboration opportunities.

After a busy day of tours and networking, a feedback session allowed for collaboration between Burnley College and Safran Nacelles industry experts and apprentices.

Burnley College Students spoke about the fresh perspectives this opportunity had given them, while further collaborative projects and exchanges of knowledge and skills are already being discussed.
