Apprentices Build Connections at Themis Apprenticeship Exchange

Group of apprentices attending Apprenticeship Exchange

A group of Themis Apprentices hosted the second Apprenticeship Exchange for learners to boost their knowledge.

Organised by our first year Chartered Management Degree Apprentices, the morning brought together around 45 apprentices of all levels and sectors to gain insights from current and past apprentices, expanding their networks and enriching their knowledge.

Guest speakers at the event included Membership Director at East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce Simon Brierley, Curtis Wilson, Careers and Welfare Coordinator at Manchester College and Holly Stewart, Apprenticeship Recruitment Officer at Themis.

Curtis shared his expertise with the group and encouraged everyone to make most of the connections around them. He said:

“Everyone has different learning experiences and learning journeys, but I can’t shout enough about how much networking can actually do for them.”

The exchange gave apprentices the chance to step back, reflect and see their own journeys from a fresh perspective. Many left feeling inspired by what they had heard and the new connections they had made:

“It was really useful to see other people’s apprenticeship journeys, you get a chance to see it from another perspective and see what options are available in the future. It was also great to network with others that are in the same boat.”

“It’s been great to listen to the guest speakers talk about the places they’ve been to and the sectors they’ve worked in.”

Events like these highlight the value of sharing knowledge, support each other’s development and creating opportunities to grow together.
