We are currently recruiting for a Trainee Lecturer in AS/A-Level Computing with the potential to deliver outstanding student achievement and a commitment to driving forward the provision of Computing to ensure student success.

This post would suit newly qualified graduates who wished to gain a teaching qualification or newly qualified teachers. Lecturer A’s have reduced contact hours and are supported through a mentoring system and staff development programmes to develop their classroom practice.

As an ambitious Trainee Lecturer, you will work closely within the A-Levels Division to ensure that students are actively engaged in all aspects of the delivery of AS/A-Level Computing and you will also work within the Division and liaise with cross-College areas to enhance the student experience and provide the widest range of opportunities to our students.

As a Trainee Lecturer your contact teaching hours, relevant to subject specialism, will increase as you gain in skills and experience.

With a relevant degree level qualification in a relevant subject, ideally you also possess a PGCE or Certificate in Education. However should you not have this, the College has an excellent Staff Development programme where a recognised teaching qualification can be gained.

You will have knowledge of current issues in Computing relating to the curriculum area and though knowledge of current AS/A-Level and/or GCSE level Computing specifications and experience of teaching Computing in an FE context would be beneficial, it is not essential to the post.

The salary for this post is £17,189 – £23,941.

Download the application form and give a brief overview of your existing experience to show how you meet the criteria for the post of Trainee Lecturer in Computing. This post closes at 5.00pm on Monday 28 June 2021.
