Due to continued growth within the Engineering curriculum at Burnley College, we are seeking to appoint an experienced, innovative and highly driven Head of Division for Engineering to provide strategic leadership and high-quality academic delivery across our engineering provision.
Working closely with curriculum teams, industry partners and senior leaders, you will lead the development and delivery of engineering programmes from Entry through to HE, ensuring technical excellence, employer responsiveness and strong student outcomes. You will manage engineering workshops, equipment investment and H&S compliance, while building links with local and national engineering employers to shape curriculum and secure progression routes.
You will also contribute to the wider College leadership team to help deliver an outstanding technical education offer.
With a degree in an engineering discipline and a recognised teaching qualification, you will also hold relevant industry experience within mechanical, electrical, manufacturing or advanced engineering sectors. You will have experience of leading teams within FE/HE, curriculum planning, quality assurance, and managing budgets for specialist engineering resources.
Knowledge of T-Levels, Apprenticeship Standards, HNC/HND delivery and awarding body requirements is essential.
You will possess excellent leadership, communication and IT skills, with the ability to drive performance, inspire staff and students, and work collaboratively across departments. Experience of using CAD/CAM software, CNC machinery, automation/robotics or other industry-standard engineering systems is essential, together with the ability to lead curriculum innovation and support continuous improvement across engineering provision.
