Burnley College A Level Alumna Lily Fontaine has taken the music industry by storm with her band English Teacher.

The Lancastrian group have featured in the BBC Radio 1’s Sounds of 2025 countdown of the top five rising music stars, alongside the likes of Chappell Roan and Myles Smith!

The Sounds of 2025 are selected by more than 150 music experts who forecast the future superstars of the next 12 months.

This latest accolade follows their recent success receiving a Mercury Prize with their debut album ‘This Could Be Texas’, a post-punk album that has been praised highly by critics.
