About the course

The course will promote confidence and competence within an active fitness surrounding. Top of the range fitness equipment and technology will enhance the learning experience and enable students to thrive amongst industry leading professionals. Both group work and individual practise will be utilised improving communication, collaboration, self-management, adaptability and resilience, self-monitoring and development. The course will fully prepare students for a career within the fitness industry. Completion of the course will also allow for students to work within sports clubs as a fitness instructor with CIMSPA accreditation.

Assessment

Industry specific assessments and set tasks will be ongoing throughout the duration of the course with coursework, activities and practical demonstrations included. Learners will build up their own portfolio of knowledge and learning materials.

Careers & Progression

Successful graduates of this course can progress straight into the fitness industry in roles such as : gym instructor: fitness instructor, group exercise instructor. This course however acts as a springboard for additional practical industry qualifications such as; kettlebells, spinning, exercise to music and pre-choreographed program qualifications for students wanting to discover more about the theoretic side of the industry. This qualification offers progression to the BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Sport, Fitness and Personal Training or other Sport/ Sport and Exercise Science qualifications upon successful interview.
