About the course
On this course, you will develop detailed knowledge surrounding key areas of business. You will look in detail at enterprise and the skills it takes to set up and run a successful business. Entrepreneurial knowledge and skills are key to any successful enterprise, and this course allows you to look in detail at what characteristics an entrepreneur has to ensure success. You take this further by looking in detail at how businesses are set up including the business planning process and research. Once an entrepreneur has looked into the market, it is important that they gain finance and studying on this course allows you to look at both personal and business financial management. You will participate in a range of learning activities including independent, team work and self-directed study in our well resourced classrooms and learning hubs. You will learn how to apply the knowledge you develop in the classroom in to the business sector, through running business events and engaging with local employers. The course will help to prepare you for a career in the challenging and rewarding business sector.

A minimum of two GCSEs at grade 5 or above preferably with a grade 5 in English Language OR a relevant Level 1 Diploma. If you achieve a Grade 3 in GCSE Maths or English you will be required to resit these while studying on the Level 2 programme.
A range of methods are used to assess your learning including verbal assessment, written assessments and practical presentations.

This course will prepare you with knowledge and skills to continue onto an apprenticeship programme in a business related subject. You may also choose to continue your studies at a higher level in order to further develop your knowledge and skills.
