About the course
This is a 1 day course introducing candidates to Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (TIG). On completion of this course candidates will be able to understand the correct use of the associated welding equipment and the hazards and control measures associated with the equipment. Candidates will also be able to apply the skills and knowledge on a wide variety of applications including company specific applications. The course will cover the following:- The relevant statutory requirements ad safe working practices. Principles of the TIG welding process Electrode selection and preparation Gas regulation, gas types and applications and flow settings. Correct welding procedures using ARC ignition. Types of joints and welding positions and how to inspect welded joints. Fault recognition Practical exercises covering a variety of joint configurations, welding positions and material thickness
