About the course
The course includes vocational units which are specific to Sports sector and are designed to give you introductory knowledge of the various sectors including Sports, Coaching, Health and Nutrition and Fitness. Your studies will help you develop your self-confidence and wider knowledge of the Sports sector ready for work experience, learning sector specific skills such as How exercise affects the Body, Training for Fitness and Coaching Skills in Sport.

A minimum of two GCSEs at grade 3 including English Language and Maths OR a relevant Pre Foundation Learning qualification including GCSE grade 3 in English Language and/or Maths.
The one year programme includes 10 foundation units including Getting People Active, Keeping Active and Healthy, Playing Sport, Coaching Skills in Sport and Working with Others.
The vocational diploma is assessed via coursework where you will create a portfolio of evidence to show your practical application of the units.

Extra curricular activities
There are plenty of activities and visits to take part in that will help you achieve your ambitions including visits to St George's Park Centre for Football, Wigan Warriors, National Football Museum and opportunities to be involved in overseas trips to Club La Santa in Lanzarote (warm weather training), Gothia World Youth Cup Football Tournament in Sweden and European ski trip.
