About the course
This qualification is aimed at learners preparing for technical and professional roles in mechanical engineering, for example mechanical engineering technician or mechanical fitter. Upon completion of the course learners will typically continue to progress onto a level 3 engineering BTEC or an Advanced Apprenticeship within a variety of Engineering pathways. Learners gain skills and knowledge from studying a range of units, including metallic and non-metallic materials, design, CAD/CAM systems and machining. Maths and Science are the underpinning principles of Engineering and will be covered extensively as this is a key requirement for most professional engineering roles.

Maths, electrical, Investing engineering product, CAD/CAM, machining, Engineering Interpretation and Engineering world.

Extra curricular activities
You will have the opportunity to attend a range of trips, visits and guest speaker seminars. Previous trips have included, volunteering project in Thailand, a number industry trips in and around East Lancashire, paintballing, tour of Manchester City's stadium and the Museum of Science and Industry
