About the course

This Personal License course is accredited by British Institute of Innkeepers Awarding Body. This qualification is a one day course and is aimed at those who want to work in or sell alcohol within a licensed premise. This course will look at licensing authorities, responsibilities of the personal license holder; police powers; rights of entry; specific prohibitions; strengths of alcoholic drinks; responsible retail of alcohol; and the protection of children from harm. It is important that those individuals who work in the Hospitality Industry are up to current legislations and licensing in order to authorise the sale of alcoholic beverages to the public. This qualification is industry standard and essential when working with alcohol and the hospitality business. On completion of the Level 2 BIIAB Award course, all candidates will successfully hold a licensing qualification. This will enable you to apply for their Personal License.

There are no formal entry requirements required for this training.

Assessment

The BIIAB Level 2 Award assessment takes the form of a 40 minute multiply choice paper based exam or alternatively this can be done on-line which will take place at the end of the one day course. You will be assessed on: Roles, responsibilities and functions of licensing authorities within the framework The application process for personal license The role and legal responsibilities The content and purpose and operating schedules The role and duties of the designated premises supervisor Right of entry to license Police powers with regards to closure and the specific prohibitions in the sale of alcohol
