About the course
This course will enable you to develop and apply your understanding of Electronic Engineering. The course will comprise of theoretical and practical modules which will be assessed through written assessments, exams and group work. You will develop skills that will help you to progress within your company. The majority of the analytical subjects in this course are studied during the first year, and this provides a solid foundation for the specialist modules that are undertaken during the second year. Examples of modules studied on this course include: Electrical and Electronic Principles, Engineering Science, Operations Management, Programmable Logic Controllers The standard part time tuition fee rate for 2020/21 for Home and EU students is £4000 per year (£8000 in total). Our typical offer is 104-112 UCAS Points. We operate a flexible admissions policy and treat everyone as an individual. This means that we will take into consideration your educational achievements and predicted grades (where applicable) together with your application as a whole, including work experience and personal statement. General Studies accepted. You will need one of the following: At least one A Level in an analytical subject (preferably Mathematics or Physics). Mathematics must have been gained at GCSE (A* - C). BTEC Diploma with a MM profile including Analytical Methods. . Applications from individuals with non-standard qualifications, relevant work or life experience and who can demonstrate the ability to cope with and benefit from degree-level studies, are welcome and these applicants will be interviewed.
All students will complete a Project Module, which is as a major contributor to the overall qualification and involves a very high level of individual commitment with the support of highly qualified, motivated and committed lecturing staff. External examiners have continually identified the project as a particular strength of the programme, and past students have saved their companies thousands of pounds through new and innovative ideas implemented in their projects. Assessment is by a series of assignments during the course and in some units there is an additional end examination. Whilst the normal route for study on this course is on a four unit per year basis, it may be possible to study a smaller number of modules per year. On successful completion of this course you may progress to an HND, Degree Apprenticeship or a range of other Degree courses. Careers that this course may lead to include Automation Engineer, Systems Engineer, Design Engineer and Project Engineer.
