Sam Sheard, 19, from Rossendale, a former student at Bacup and Rawtenstall Grammar School, excelled in A Level English Language, Economics and German.

He also completed an Extended Project Qualification, which supercharged his subject knowledge in language and linguistics.

Sam served as Student Governor while at Burnley College, giving him the communication skills needed to thrive in a future career in journalism or public policy.

“The additional training I received about governing and sharing my voice as a student effectively was really useful.” 

Sam progressed to University College London to read Linguistics.
