Student Success Story

Paige Blackburn

Paige Blackburn, 19, from Barley, a former student at Westholme School, completed a Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Creative Digital Media and was one of our exceptional winners at this year’s Awards for Excellence ceremony.

Her favourite thing about Burnley College was the collaborative nature and community-focus:

“It’s a very friendly space to be in.

“In my first term I joined in with the music technology enrichment activities on offer and that meant I got to meet people from other courses, which was a lot of fun.”

Paige honed her event planning and production skills filming Burnley Football Club manager Scott Parker’s visit to Burnley College in September 2024, in addition to supporting local fundraising events such as Pendleside Hospice Does Strictly.

“I’d love to produce my own film eventually. The film industry is so diverse and full of opportunities – anything really is possible.”

Paige progressed to Newcastle University to read Film Practices.
