Dawn, from Blackburn, completed her Apprenticeship in Property Maintenance with The Onward Group in Accrington, all while balancing her training with the duties of being a parent.

She gained a wide range of skills including tiling, plastering, plumbing, joinery and painting, as well as a myriad of customer service skills.

“It really improved my eye for detail, so I could ensure I was always providing customers with the best possible outcome, whatever challenge they came to me with.”

Dawn was also selected as a finalist in the Themis Inspire and Achieve Awards in the Ultimate Vision category.

She is now completing her Advanced Carpentry and Joinery Apprenticeship with Themis and Onward Homes Ltd.
