Abigail Geary, 18, from Oswaldtwistle, a former student at Rhyddings Business and Enterprise School, achieved an exceptional AAA in A Level Biology, Chemistry and Environmental Science.

Abigail travelled down to Oxford with her parents after her Biology tutor, Tytus, persuaded her she had the determination and drive to succeed at the highly-renowned university.

“After just one day in the city I realised ‘This is where I belong…’ “

She’s now reading Biology at The Queen’s College.

Abigail was also a keen volunteer during her time at Burnley College, taking part in a variety of enrichment activities:

“One of the things I’ll remember most fondly from my time here is becoming a Student Governor, representing my peers.”
