Burnley College Students carve their way to historic success at SkillBuild competition

Four remarkable Students with exceptional skills in Architectural Joinery have dominated in the SkillBuild competition.

Gabriel Howard, Ali-Raza Gilani, Jude Taylor and Dylan Rudderforth traveled to Barnsley College to go head-to-head against other highly skilled Learners and Apprentices.

Despite tough competition, Gabriel, Ali-Raza and Jude came out on top and took the gold, silver and bronze in the Joinery category whilst Dylan, who is studying Furniture Design, won silver in the Furniture category.

SkillBuild is the largest and longest running multi-trade competition in the UK, bringing together the best-of-the-best of construction Apprentices and Learners and is delivered by the Construction Industry Training Board.

The overall eight highest-scoring competitors in each specialist skill category have the opportunity to progress onto the next round – the SkillBuild National Final, taking place at the Marshall Arena in Milton Keynes on 21-23 November.
