Burnley College Celebrates Unsung Heroes at Prestigious Best of Lancashire Ceremony
Burnley College has been honouring the people who make a real difference in the community by joining forces with The Lancashire Post and Burnley Express for the Best of Lancashire Awards 2023.
We were honoured to sponsor the ‘Grass Roots Sports Award’ which highlights the outstanding contributions of individuals, teams, and organisations who have shown exceptional commitment, dedication and passion towards promoting and developing sports from the ground up.
The prestigious event returned for the third year at the Crow Wood Hotel and Spa Resort.
We’d like to say a massive congratulations to all the winners, including CN Sports who were declared victorious in the ‘Grass Roots Sports Award’ category and to all our colleagues at Veka PLC who won in the ‘Business in the Community’ category, whom we work closely with through our apprenticeship training-arm Themis.
As the Number 1 College in England* we are renowned for our unrivalled and award-winning Sport and Fitness facilities including our High Performance Gym, fitted with a range of industry leading Eleiko equipment and our Cryotherapy Suite which delivers whole body-cold therapy, used by students and professional sports people alike.
Alongside our state-of-the-art facilities, another of our strengths is our expert Tutors and Trainers, including former professional footballers such as Burnley FC legend Andy Payton.
We provide multiple routes for Learners to progress to a career in the industry, including our bespoke BFC Women’s Professional Academy in partnership with Premier League Football Team Burnley Football Club.
We are linked with England Lacrosse, whose national team use our outstanding strength and conditioning facilities for training.
