During your apprenticeship you will be involved in highly-skilled, complex and precision work. To help you develop your overall skill set, you will experience all our machining areas and spend time in our assembly and inspection departments.
Skills and personal qualities required for the role:
There are plenty of good career prospects in Fort Vale. A number of Directors/Managers and Supervisors have progressed through the apprenticeship scheme here and into their current roles.
As an apprentice toolmaker you will be trained to produce precision tools and work-holding devices.
During your apprenticeship you will learn how to manufacture and assemble new tooling and how to re-furbish worn tooling. The tools you will make are used to cut, shape and form metals and other materials to manufacture our range of products.
You will become skilled, not only in conventional milling, turning, grinding and assembly. You will develop skills in programming, setting and operation of our state-of-the-art CNC multi axis machining centres.
This is a ‘4 year’ apprenticeship where you will be expected to complete your HND in Mechanical Engineering.
