About this vacancy

After making caterpillar tracks and shell casings during the second world war, Dobson and Beaumont developed into thread rolling specialists during the latter half of the 20th century. Whether you require a thread rolled component, or a precision engineered part, we can help. There is an exciting new opportunity for a Thread Roller Apprentice to join the Dobson and Beaumont team at their site in Blackburn and work towards a Level 2 Engineering Operative Qualification.

Duties/main responsibilties include:

This course offers an outstanding opportunity to develop the range of skills required for anyone looking to start a career in Engineering. It will give you the foundation skills and knowledge in areas such as hand fitting techniques, mechanical maintenance, milling and turning, welding and sheet metal work, alongside support for further development of Maths, English, Digital Skills and soft skills.

Duties within the role include:

  • You will learn how to put threads onto metal components
  • Supplying parts for wind turbines, formula 1 cars, and general engineering applications you will become a precision engineer
  • Development opportunities exist with centreless grinding, MPI crack detecting and other engineering applications.

Monday – Thursday

7:45AM – 4:45PM

Friday

7:45AM – 12:45PM
