About this vacancy

Allspeeds has over 150 years experience in the design and manufacture of hydraulic equipment. We have gained a global reputation for the quality and effectiveness across a wide range of hydraulic products for industries including Oil & Gas, Subsea, Offshore, Nuclear Decommissioning, Aerospace, Construction and Military. All product research, design, testing, development and manufacturing are performed at our facilities and head office in Accrington, Lancashire, UK. There is an exciting new opportunity for a Production Coordinator Apprentice to join the Allspeeds team.

Working closely with the manufacturing manager and his team, the successful candidate will start as a trainee, and over time will grow into the role and ultimately play a key role in ensuring that the production of bespoke engineered products in our busy workshop runs smoothly and efficiently.

 

The ideal candidate will have the following qualities:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good English reading and writing skills
  • Keen attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good organizational skills. Ability to multi-task and prioritise their own workload
  • Ability to plan and meet deadlines
  • Confident while working independently or in a team
  • Good computer skills, including working knowledge of MS Excel/Word

Duties/main responsibilties include:

  • Issue drawings and works orders required for production.
  • Issue material to the shop floor to ensure a steady workflow.
  • Seek to continuously improve ERP (Epicor) planning and material processes and master data, including improving Bills of Materials and Bills of Operations to reflect current/actual production techniques and timings.
  • Using the ERP system (Epicor), analyse and understand customer and production demand.
  • Analyse, report and have a pro-active approach to changes in demand.
  • Liaise with production, engineering and sales to prioritise production and satisfy customer need.
  • Schedule and progress chase external works for plating, anodising, heat treatment etc.
  • Analyse workload vs shop capacity to identify bottlenecks and potential lead time issues.
  • Co-ordinate weekly planning meetings.
  • Have an overview of short and medium-term production schedules.
  • Monitor the closing of completed Jobs and ensuring that any production feedback is fed back into the ERP system.
  • Review and when required, process stock transactions.
  • Take an active role in company stock takes.
  • Advise the sales team on lead times.
  • Provide KPI figures for Senior Management Meetings.
  • Collate and interpret performance related data.
