Ferguson Engineering (Northern) Ltd is a privately owned company situated in Pendle, Lancashire located off junction 12 on the M65. With a high reputation within various industries, Ferguson Engineering has gone from strength to strength over the 28 years in business to become one of the leaders in all aspects of engineering from design to installation and commissioning. They manufacture bespoke products for the bakery industry, ranging from components to full bread manufacturing plants. Operating from well equipped workshops and offices, they can fulfil all their customers requirements from design to manufacturing, installing and commissioning, from a full bread manufacturing plant or alternatively updating, extending or refurbishing existing lines that would take place on site. There’s an exciting new opportunity for a Level 3 Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician to join the Ferguson Engineering team at their site in Nelson.

Please note – some engineering experience/knowledge is required.

Duties/main responsibilties include:

Mechanical Duties within the Apprenticeship include;

  • Position, assemble, install and dismantle mechanical plant and equipment which may include pumps, valves, gearboxes, pipework, to agreed specifications
  • Carry out planned, unplanned and preventative maintenance procedures on mechanical plant and equipment
  • Replace, repair or remove components in mechanical plant and equipment and ensure its return to operational condition
  • Diagnose and determine the cause of faults in mechanical plant and equipment

Electrical duties within the Apprenticeship include;

  • Position, assemble, install and dismantle electrical plant and equipment, which may include motors, switchgear, cables and conductors, to agreed specifications
  • Carry out planned, unplanned and preventative maintenance procedures on electrical plant and equipment
  • Replace, repair or remove components in electrical plant and equipment and ensure its return to operational condition
  • Diagnose and determine the cause of faults in electrical plant and equipment
