Duties/main responsibilties include:

Your main duties within the role include:

  • Organised and able to maintain safe working environment, immediate working area to be kept clear of obstructions, all equipment to be cared for and stored in a tidy manner.
  • Use of hand tools and manual machine tools to machine and set details of assemblies.
  • Use FLT and overhead crane to manipulate, lift and turnover large, heavy structures – up to 10 ton in weight (training can be provided)
  • Assist in building of jigs and fixtures on site at API to allow customer acceptance of product.
  • May occasionally require working on customer sites and overnight stays in UK or rest of world.
  • Prepping, organising and advising of issues with Drawing / Model or tooling in readiness for next jobs.
  • Work with the apprentices with a view to sharing and offering experience and mentoring.
  • Accurate timekeeping on system – booking on and off jobs/tasks

  • Working on defence and military projects requires a diligent and conscientious attitude to sharing information and data. Compliance to the UK official secrets act, where applicable, and all internal security procedures is a must.

Working week

The normal working week is Monday – Friday, times to be confirmed.
