Orthoplastics are offering 4 individuals a fantastic opportunity to learn all aspects of Medical Machining, including setting and operating various CNC machines in both Milling and Turning Sections.
The successful apprentices will complete a 42-week delivery model, whereby they will spend their first year at Burnley College full-time – they will have access to a state-of-the-art engineering facility and equipment to develop their knowledge and skills. Once they have completed a year, they will then go into the company to learn skills on the job and will be coming into college either on day-release or block-release to complete their off-the-job training. By the end of their apprenticeship, they will have achieved a Level 3 qualification in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering – Machining.
If the learner completes the apprenticeship and attains the required skill level they will be moved to a skilled machinist, if not they may stay as a semi-skilled machinist.
