Thomas Woodburn, an Advanced Engineering Apprentice from Themis successfully achieved Gold this month at the 2015 WorldSkills UK competition final in Birmingham. The competition is designed to test competitors’ skills in a range of crucial elements to demonstrate excellence and best practice within Advanced Engineering. On Thursday 14th August we visited WEC to take a look at the manufacturing of our awards for the upcoming Inspire and Achieve Awards event. We were shown around WEC's Darwen premises by welding and engineering instructor Kris Mercer on August 14th to see some of our Themis apprentices working on the manufacture of our Themis Inspire and Achieve Awards.
