The Construction and Future Technologies Centre has welcomed a brand new building project for students in the form of a purpose-built bungalow. Giving students the opportunity to use their construction training and skills to build a full-scale bungalow in the Construction and Future Technologies Centre from start to finish. UB40 play UCLan Burnley - share your pics!

On Saturday 22 November, UB40 took to the stage at UCLan Burnley to play an amazing two hour set for local fans. Playing a rare mixture of classic tracks, new songs from their latest album Getting Over The Storm and a few of what the band themselves called "very, very old tunes", the sold-out venue was singing and dancing until late into the night. Outstanding Burnley College Sixth Form Centre student Aneila Afsar beat competition from some of the world’s leading taekwondo athletes to win a Gold Medal at the Commonwealth Taekwondo Championships in Edinburgh. Aneila won 3-1 in her first bout of the competition, before defeating her Australian opponent in the second round by technical knock-out after the fight was brought to a halt by the referee. Building an igloo for Winter Wonderland

Health and Social Development are constructing an Igloo using four pint plastic milk cartons as part of their Winter Wonderland Craft activity! Children who come to the event will be able to help create the igloo, building it from scratch with milk cartons throughout the day.
