The Chief Executive Officer of the Football Medical and Performance Association was the guest speaker at a seminar arranged for students studying a range of sport programmes and top athletes at Burnley College.
Eamonn Salmon, a physiotherapist who has enjoyed a successful career around the globe in the private sector, as well as with top football clubs, was invited in to College. He gave a fascinating talk on the foundation and role of the FMPA in protecting the rights of Sports Science staff within the football industry, including physiotherapists, club doctors, sports scientists, sports therapists, soft tissue therapists and performance analysts, as well as surgeons, sports psychologists, nutritionists, podiatrists and dentists employed by football clubs.
His talk was well received by students studying on Advanced Vocational and A Level sports programmes, as well as undergraduates studying on University Courses at Burnley College. The College's Elite Athletes and players in the Academy of Sport teams also attended the talk.
Eamonn was invited to the College by the team of expert Tutors and Lecturers drawn from the highest levels of the Sports Industry to give students an insight into the world of professional sport and the breadth of careers available to them following their studies.
