Help to start a career in teaching with expert advice from Burnley College

Burnley College staged a popular event offering those considering a career in teaching the opportunity to get expert advice and guidance on the options available to them.

A career in teaching can be immensely rewarding, helping to shape a new generation and constantly learning how to get the most out of  students.

The event offered those thinking of teaching in Primary School; Secondary School; College; University or Adult Learning the chance to explore a range of courses starting this month or September that can provide the first step towards a new career. There was also information on the financial support available for those keen to qualify as a teacher and the chance to talk to current teachers who had made the switch into education from other industries.

Friendly, supportive Tutors chatted to visitors about the different routes into teaching, dependent on your current qualifications, via:

  • An Access to Education course
  • Foundation Degree in Children, Young People and Their Services
  • PGCE/ Certificate in Education.

If you are interested in a career in teaching or working with children and young people, contact Student Services on 01282 733373 or email s.services@burnley.ac.uk
