There was double cause for Lauren Pointon to celebrate at her graduation ceremony after completing a university course in Burnley - she earned a first-class degree and was presented with a top award to recognise her research skills.
Lauren Pointon, from Briercliffe, a former pupil at Colne Primet High School, was presented with the prestigious Dissertation Award, which recognises the high standard of research which has made a noteworthy contribution to their subject.
Lauren’s dissertation explored the impact of social media on the beauty and personal care industry and formed part of her BA Hons degree in Business.
The determination and focus Lauren has shown in building her own future has never faltered, with her choice of dissertation topic providing a valuable insight for industry into key influencers.
Lauren, who studied alongside her twin sister Amy, chose to live at home during their studies, taking advantage of all that Burnley has to offer as a university town.
