  • To deal with customers and patients politely and efficiently at all times
  • Quickly establish a customers wants and needs and actively sell appropriate       products
  • Operate the till systems within agreed company procedures.
  • Carry out branch cashing up and banking activities in an accurate and prompt manner.  Ensure cash handling practices are accurate
  • Deal effectively with customer complaints, escalating them where appropriate in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures
  • Receive, verify and check prescriptions ensuring appropriate payment or exemption declaration has been made, ensuring the back of prescriptions are completed correctly.
  • Hand out dispensed and non-dispensed medicines to patients in line with current Standard Operating Procedures
  • Respond to minor ailments where appropriate and give advice to patients on medicine sales and prescriptions as appropriate, referring to the pharmacist where necessary.  Reduce the need for patients to visit their GP or attend A&E
  • Ensure that all sales of ‘P’ medicines are brought to the attention of the Pharmacist.  Ensure that no ‘P’ medicines are sold unless a pharmacist is on the premises to supervise.
  • Give advice on ‘P’ medicines to customers as appropriate, referring to the pharmacist if necessary.
  • Ensure all products are displayed correctly, legally and with appropriate pricing.
  • Ensure stock is received, stored, is rotated and date checked.
  • Comply with all Health and Safety procedures within the branch
  • Undertake general housekeeping and cleaning as required.
  • Attend training and development events as required.
  • Promote initiatives such as Repeat Dispensing, Electronic Prescription Service, and prescription collection services
  • Contribute to the delivery of professional services (especially any minor ailments service), in particular the identification and recruitment of patients
  • Contribute to branch activities to ensure compliance with professional and contractual requirements
  • Assist with activities to ensure accurate, prompt, and full implementation of business initiatives
  • Ensure branch communication is clear, prompt and accurate.  Ensure business communications are acted upon promptly and in full

Working week

  • The hours of work will be Monday to Friday 9.00am to 6.00pm
  • Total hours per week: 40.00

Weekly wage - £148.00
