'Taster Week' gives Year 10 pupils a chance to experience College life

Among the highlights of the week-long showcase were:

·         Virtual Welding in Engineering (do we have the name of the software/ machine?)

·         Art & Fashion workshops

·         Exploring the tourism industry with Travel & Tourism

·         Exploring fitness and performance testing in Sport

·         A variety of A Level subjects, including Ancient History, Economics, French, Psychology, Sciences, Sociology and Spanish

The week was designed to help pupils fully explore the options open to them following their GCSE exams next summer including A Level study, Advanced Vocational courses and Apprenticeships through Themis, the Apprenticeship and business training arm of Burnley College.

Staff from Burnley College Sixth Form Centre visit secondary schools across East Lancashire and West Yorkshire to assist pupils who are making important decisions about their future and help them with the skills needed to succeed in interviews and prepare the perfect CV.
