Pupils from St Augustine's RC, St Mary's Magdalene's RC and Cherry Fold Community Primary Schools enjoyed a series of activities organised by Maths and English staff at the College on the theme of The Demon Dentist, Gangsta Granny and Ratburger.

The fun sessions included story time, writing a gangster rap, a maths treasure hunt and ratburger restaurant menu.

Head of Maths and English Humera Khan said: "Children love David Walliams' books so basing our literacy and numeracy activities round them was so much fun.

"It's great to see pupils develop a real love of literacy and numeracy from a young age and they certainly impressed our Tutors with their knowledge and enthusiasm for the subjects. We believe that the core subjects of English and Maths are fun and it's our passion to make them accessible to everyone through a variety of activities and teaching methods."
