Themis Apprentice Electrician Kane named among the best in the UK

Kane Barker (23), from Great Harwood, took on the best Apprentice electrical engineers in the UK in the SPARKS final in Bracknell after winning a keenly-fought North-West qualifier.

Determined Kane travelled to the contest with his experienced Tutor Kevin Ashton, who said: "Kane overcome stiff competition to win through to the national SPARKS final - a first for Themis - and we are very proud of his achievement, which is testament to his commitment and hard work."

For winning the North West heats of the competition, Kane won a trip to Teamworks Karting, Birmingham, for himself and Kevin, where he took on the winners from regional heats all over the UK in a high-adrenaline day - and came out on top. Kane will now enjoy a £2,000 Formula Three Experience where he can put his driving skills to the test once again.
