A Level students visit University of Manchester

A group of 18 Burnley College A Level students visited the Manchester Institute of Biotechnology which forms part of the University of Manchester.

The Sir Henry Wellcome centre is internationally renowned for its groundbreaking research in Industrial Biotechnology, Biomedical Science, Healthcare, Biofuels and Energy.

The group of outstanding students sat in on a biotechnology research talk titled "SMALL the new BIG", visited interactive science stands and were given a specialist laboratory tour where they were able to get hands on with science.

Throughout the visit the A Level students were also able to watch scientific demonstrations using state-of-the-art laboratory equipment in the world-famous facility.
