Employers from WEC Group, Weir Minerals, Safran Aircelle, The Senator Group, Burnley College and Paradigm Precision got up bright and early for an action-packed morning of Apprenticeship training. Eager new recruits were taught how to prepare advanced parts used in the aerospace industry by Themis Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering Apprentices from Safran Aircelle. The group were invited into Themis’ state-of-the-art Centre of Engineering Excellence to try their hand at being an Apprentice for the day as part of Themis’ National Apprenticeship Week activities. The week spreads awareness and a wealth of information on the wide range of Apprenticeships available to young people as they look to progress on to their dream careers. Using the hashtag #NAW2016, Apprentices from around the country are sharing their experiences on Twitter and Instagram, and Themis’ latest trainees from today’s event have also been sharing photos and insights into the work they’ve been carrying out as honorary Apprentices. After their hard day’s work, each employer was presented with a prestigious certificate as recognition of their participation in National Apprenticeship Week and for all their hard work as honorary Apprentices.
