Results Day: What you need to know

posted on

Results day comes to us live and direct in less than 24 hours, so here's what you need to know about the big day, from timings to where to head for advice.

What time can I come in?

You can come in and pick your results up at the following times (unless you have been informed differently by email or phonecall not Twitter): A Level Results: From 7:30am AS Level Results: 9:30am BTEC Certificates: 9:30am You will be able to pick up your results with everyone else until 10am.

Where do I pick up my results?

You can pick your results up from the desks in the Atrium from the times stated above. There will be clear signs everywhere pointing to where you need to be and plenty of people on hand to help you locate your results if you're not sure.

I'm not a fan of busy environments/I'm very nervous about getting my results, can I come at another time?

The morning hours stated above are the best time to come in and get your results as there will be more people on hand to make the process quick and simple - as well as exciting events happening throughout the morning! If you want to come in later this will be possible, but fewer administrators will be on hand so it may take longer to locate and hand over your results.

Can somebody else pick my results up for me?

Ideally we need you to come and pick up your results yourself. If this is not possible, in order for a nominated person to collect your results they will need to bring with them: Your student ID A letter stating that you permit them to collect your results, signed by you, naming the person picking up your results A form of photo ID for themselves All three of these items need to be produced in order to collect results, if they are not provided we will unfortunately be unable to hand over your results.

I am going to be on holiday, can my results be emailed to me?

Previously we have informed students that results can be emailed to you if you are unable to come to results day and collect them. THE ADMINISTRATORS ARE REVIEWING THIS PROVISION TO ENSURE PRIVACY AND SECURITY IS MAINTAINED.  This means that we are currently deciding if we can send results out via email and will inform those who have previously requested email notification if this is not possible in due course. We apologise for any inconvenience but we take the security of your data and information very seriously.

Can I apply for clearing or adjustment on results day?

Yes, you can. There will be tutors available throughout the morning to support your applications and help you provide the information you need to progress on to the courses you really want to continue to.

What else is going on?

We always have a great atmosphere at our results day because we think getting your results is a cause for celebration! You've worked so hard and this is your reward, the final piece of your Burnley College puzzle. You can strut out knowing you did your best and have the grades to prove it. On the morning there will be plenty of activities and events happening, as well as photographers to capture your big moment if you'd like some photographic evidence of your big day. Take a deep breath and relax, and we'll see you tomorrow.
