Advanced Performing Arts students take their show on the road

This week, Burnley College Advanced Performing Arts Students have been sharing plays with pupils around East Lancashire with their travelling theatre.

Advanced Performing Arts This week, one of the schools the students visited was Mount Carmel High School in Accrington where they performed two plays for Year 10 GCSE Drama students and those in Year 9 who had chosen Drama as one of their subjects. The first performance was an interpretation of John Steinbeck's 1920s tragedy "Of Mice and Men" and was followed by "An Inspector Calls", a thriller based in 1912 Soviet Russia and London. The Advanced Performing Arts students wrote, produced and interpreted the plays themselves and followed each performance with workshops they put together to teach pupils how to work on plays like these. They also held question and answer sessions about College life and what studying is like at Burnley College which was received very well by students and plenty of important questions were asked! Thank you to Mount Carmel High School for these pictures of the day.
