A Level Students take a trip to Spain to test out their language skills

posted on

Some of Burnley College Sixth Form Centre’s outstanding A Level students were given the amazing opportunity to test their Spanish language skills with locals on a trip to Madrid.

The residential gave students a unique chance to try out their language skills and learn more about Spanish culture in the country’s capital. During their time in Madrid, students visited the Royal Palace and took a tapas tour of the City. The A Level students took a tour of El Prado Art Gallery, widely considered to be the finest art museum in the world and also famous for holding the greatest collection of Spanish art in the world. The students also took part in an immersive Spanish lesson at a local language academy and enjoyed a meal in the city on their final night to round off their experience with some truly Madrilene food, sights and music. Retiro lake

This fantastic experience was the perfect opportunity for students to use their Spanish language skills in the country itself and take in the culture of Spain outside of the usual beach holiday setting that Spain is so famous for. Burnley College offers residential trips throughout the year to students - currently A Level history students are on a trip to Munich to visit the historic city and learn about its role throughout the Second World War and its regeneration throughout the late 20th Century as a financial centre.
