Engineering Tutor selected to be judge at WorldSkills UK

A highly-skilled and experienced Tutor in the Centre for Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering Excellence at Burnley College Sixth Form Centre has been selected to judge the work of the nation's top young Engineers at WorldSkills UK, at the NEC in Birmingham.

Andy, who has 24 years’ experience, has been passing on his expertise and specialist Engineering skills at Burnley College for more than 15 years and has been instrumental in forging close relationships between Themis, the Apprenticeship and Business Training Arm of Burnley College, and WorldSkills UK. 

He said: ‘Being invited to judge at WorldSkills UK is a great honour, a highlight of my career and I enjoyed the experience immensely,.

'As one of a team of four judges in my section it was humbling to see the levels of skill, commitment and determination in all the Apprentices who made it to these finals. The standard of work achieved was very high and I offer my congratulations to the winners.’
